What is Overband® Technology?
Overband® Technology is a curved panel built into every MAAREE sports bra. It runs across the top of the chest and controls upward bounce, the movement compression-only bras leave alone.
Mari designed the first one at her kitchen table in 2018, after years of testing other brands' bras for a living. The panel works on the up-and-down, where most bras only handle the side-to-side.
Why does your sports bra ride up at the back?
Because the band gets pulled up by the weight of your chest in motion, especially above a C cup. The usual fix is more compression, which just makes the bra tighter.
The Overband® holds the top of the chest from above, so the band stops being dragged upward. Most women feel the difference on the first run.
Two versions of the Overband®
Every MAAREE bra has the Overband®. On the Solidarity you tune it yourself: the length adjusts under each arm, part of six points of adjustability, with racerback or H-back in one bra.
On every other bra the Overband® is pre-set at the factory, calibrated for the impact level so you never think about it.
Which sizes have the Overband®?
All of them. The Solidarity runs from a 28 to a 38 back and a C to an HH cup, 52 sizes in total, and every one has the Overband® in it.
The bigger the bust, the more upward bounce there is to control, so the panel matters more the higher up the range you go.

What is Overband® Technology?
Overband® Technology is the curved panel built into every MAAREE sports bra. It runs across the top of the chest and controls upward bounce, the vertical movement compression-only sports bras leave alone. It was designed by founder Mari Thomas-Welland, a sports engineer, after years of testing other brands' bras professionally.
What does the Overband® actually do?
It anchors the top of the chest and pulls slightly downward against the upward movement of breast tissue during activity. Most sports bras only address the side-to-side, which works fine up to a B cup. Above a C cup the up-and-down is the axis that causes the chafe, the ride-up and the soreness. The Overband® is the panel that solves for it.
Why does my sports bra ride up at the back?
A sports bra rides up at the back when the band is pulled forward and upward by the weight of the chest in motion, especially above a C cup. The usual fix is more compression, which makes the bra tighter rather than better. The Overband® holds the top of the chest from above, so it stops the upward pull at its source and the band stays where it should be. Most women feel the difference on the first run.
Which MAAREE sports bras have the adjustable Overband®?
Only the Solidarity Bra. On Solidarity the length adjusts under each arm at the anchor points, so you fine-tune the tension yourself. Every other bra (Empower, Uplift, Battle, Supportive Seamless) has a non-adjustable Overband®, pre-set at manufacture for the impact level of that bra.
Does the Overband® help with bigger busts?
Yes. The bigger the chest, the more upward bounce there is to control, so the more the Overband® matters. The Solidarity Bra runs from a 28 to a 38 back, C to HH cup, and is the bra MAAREE is best known for in the larger-cup community. A free fitting will confirm the right size for you.
Is the Overband® unique to MAAREE?
